Refreshing and smooth whisky is where most folks begin their whisky journey. This is the one that started the legend. A giant of Canadian whisky, it's aged longer than the 3 years required by law in oak barrels before bottling for the smoothest possible flavour. It is a bright gold colour. Aroma of fresh and soft with an almond nuttiness, hint of peppery spice. Spicy and zesty, complimented with hints of rich oak and sweet vanilla, pleasant sweetness. Clean, dry and lingering with subtle oak finish.
In 1858 the successful grain merchant Hiram Walker founded what would become Canadian Club Whisky. The distillery was built in Walkerville, Ontario, across the river from Detroit, MI, because of the exceptional quality of local grains there. By the turn of the century Walker’s whisky had experienced significant growth and popularity in gentlemen’s clubs, taking on the name ‘Club Whisky’. That later evolved into ‘Canadian Club Whisky’ when U.S. lawmakers sought to regulate trade with Canada.
